Jon Gosselin has just one trick left up his sleeves to help make him some money. The reality TV dad is accusing television network TLC of violating Pennsylvania child labor laws. He claims that TLC failed to obtain permits to allow Jon and Kate Gosselin’s eight children to be filmed on their reality show ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ but the contract says that the parents were to obtain those permits themselves!!
Now Jon’s attorneys are claiming that this was TLC’s attempt to “circumvent the laws.”
In addition, Jon’s lawyers are arguing that TLC’s contract prevents Jon from making money elsewhere, like TV appearances, endorsements, etc. The papers state, “Mr. Gosselin will be unable to earn a living as a television personality, and therefore be precluded from supporting his eight children.”
They claim that TLC’s contract signed by Jon back in 2005 took “advantage of Mr. Gosselin’s inexperience and lack of sophistication.”
Well no shit…that’s what contracts do, Jon!! That’s why you hire an attorney or a manager to look over everything before you sign it. Dumb ass.
“The Plaintiff’s hands are so sullied, polluted and infected with wrongdoing, deception, heavy handedness, unconscionability and disregard for the Public’s Interest, that the only resolve that justice should mandate is that Plaintiff’s infected hands be amputated.”
So basically, Jon and his attorneys are just pissed with TLC for having a lock-tight contract that Jon signed without seeking legal guidance. His fault, tough luck. Now Jon has filed papers in response to TLC’s legal action against Jon for breach of contract. Jon is now countersuing TLC for $5 million.
I wonder where Kate stands with all this? She’s making enough money from her books, maybe she isn’t worried about the child labor laws.
