Rihanna says nobody helped her cope with Chris Brown assault

Popstar Rihanna has had quite the year and as she sits down with GQ magazine for their January 2010 issue, she talks about how she’s coped with her assault from ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and how the situation has affected her latest hit album, Rated R.

When asked who helped her get through the incident she answered, “Nobody. Really, just the music. And working. ‘Cause I really didn’t want to be around anybody, for them to stare at me and stuff, and feel sorry for me. So I just stayed in the house a lot. Then I started to get cabin fever. I was like, I’m going crazy in here.”

RiRi goes on to say that she had a support system when she need it. “Me and Jay-Z, we have a very close relationship, so he was helping me through it and giving me advice and guidance, and just words of support. Like, strength.”

I can speak for everyone at Gossipthread when I say that we all love and totally support Rihanna…she’s made it through one hell of a year and come out with a hit album on top of it all!!

Jay-Z wants baby with Beyonce

Rapper Jay-Z doesn’t have time to worry about Miley Cyrus not listening to his music; the performer is spending all his time trying to make a baby with Beyonce.

Jay-Z is on the December 2009 cover of Gotham mag, and here’s a few snippets of his interview:

“Making music is art… It doesn’t change who you are as a person. It doesn’t mean you’re entitled or you’re above the law. You still treat people as human beings. It doesn’t change the laws of the universe. Life has a balance and for every action there is a reaction. So if you put negative energy in, negative energy comes back to you. You have to live your life within the laws of the universe and I haven’t lost sight of that. You have to be close with your foundation and the people who know you best because they’ve known you for so long that they can see the changes in you,…Fame is such a deadly drug that you can’t see the changes because you are so consumed by it. You need a close-knit group of friends and family to make sure you stay grounded.”

During the interview Jay-Z let it slip that he and Beyonce are focusing all their efforts on creating a baby together.  And this is big news from such a secretive couple!!  The two got married secretly got married last year and even though they are very happy, they rarely wear their rings out in public.

Alright, let’s start taking bets!!  How soon before we hear about Beyonce being pregnant?

Miley Cyrus never listened to Jay-Z, despite ‘Party in the USA’ song lyrics

Pop singer Miley Cyrus just proved how dumb she actually is during a pre-Halloween bash interview. Honestly, I thought higher of her than this…check it out.

In Miley’s song ‘Party in the USA’ she repeatedly sings “and the Jay-Z song was on!” so during the interview she was asked which song it was.  Her response?

I’ve never heard a Jay-Z song. I don’t listen to pop music.”

Whaaat?!!  Pop music?  K, hold on.  Jay-Z doesn’t sing, compose, or produce pop music.  MILEY CYRUS sings pop music.  Doesn’t she know the difference?  Or does she just get up on stage and dance on the pole, not paying attention to the music playing? Good Lord.

When asked about how and why it was put in the song she replies:

“I don’t know, I didn’t write the song, so I have no idea. Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something to go with my clothing line. I didn’t write it and … I didn’t expect it to be popular, originally. It was just something that I wanted to do, and I needed some songs and it turned out for the best.  I’m really blessed for it to have done as well as it has. Totally blessed. God has definitely put me in an amazing position with amazing people.”

It’s so frustrating listening to this interview.  And, to top it off, she’s in her Pocahontas costume. How can you take a dumb, 16-year-old white girl dressed up as the amazing Pocahontas seriously? She’s bringing shame to the name.

Check out the video interview of Miley in the full post.  It’s boring as hell, so fast forward to the 2:50 minute mark for the part about Jay-Z and ‘Party in the USA.’

Jay-Z comments on Kanye West outburst at Taylor Swift during VMAs

Rapper Kanye West’s boss, Jay-Z finally comments on Kanye’s outburst towards country singer Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech at this year’s MTV VMAs.  The rapper, producer tells BBC Radio 1 DJ:

“It’s an awards show. He’s just a super passionate person…Of course it was rude, it was her moment…that’s the way he felt. It was rude, but the way they’re treating him… He’s on the cover of every paper. He didn’t kill anybody. No one got harmed.”

He continued:

“It just wasn’t appropriate. It wasn’t fair to Taylor at all…but at the end of the day, we’re gonna celebrate him for his passion more than vilify him. As he matures, he has to balance that.  I don’t think he should lay low. I think he should move on and have a brilliant career.”

We like Jay-Z…he’s kept a level head about the whole incident and I respect his response.  I still think it was a d-bag move on Kanye’s part, but it’s time to move on to the next juicy piece of celebrity gossip.

The Jay Leno Show premiere

The much anticipated premiere of The Jay Leno Show aired tonight on NBC and it was great!!

Jay started with his traditional stand-up, welcomed back Kevin Eubanks as the show’s band, then had ‘The Hangover’ comedian Dan Finnerty appear with a segment on a singing car wash. A star-studded cast followed…

Comedian and long-time friend of Jay, Jerry Seinfeld, was the first guest on the show and talked about his upcoming television reunion for the entire cast of the #1 show of all time, Seinfeld.  Oprah Winfrey made a video cameo as well…making light of her friendship with Jerry and boasting about her summer holiday in the Mediterranean.

An unexpected twist to the show when rapper Kanye West asked to speak before his performance with Jay-Z and Rihanna.  Showing remorse through a humbling lack of words, Kanye apologized yet again to his fans and to Taylor Swift for his behavior during the MTV VMAs last night.

Wrapping up the evening was a fantastic performance of ‘Run This Town’ by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West from Jay-Z’s latest album, Blueprint 3.  Jay ended his inaugural night with his famous ‘headlines.’

Way to go Jay!  You never disappoint – we can’t wait for our daily dose every weeknight at 10/9c!!  Woot woot!
