Singer Marc Anthony celebrated his 41st birthday with President Obama on Wednesday.  The Puerto Rican singer was presented the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award by the President with both his wife Jennifer Lopez and the First Lady Michelle Obama in attendance.

The 32nd Annual Awards Gala was held at the Washington DC where Marc was honored for his successful career.  It’s also Hispanic Heritage Month, where the U.S honors the contributions of Hispanic-Americans, celebrating their heritage and culture.  It runs from September 15-October 15 each year.  The reason September 15th was chosen is because it is the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico, Chile and Belize celebrate their independence days on September 16, September 18 and September 21.

With J.Lo by his side, Marc looked great!  She is always stunning…always classy…gorgeous!!

President Obama calls Kanye West a ‘jackass’

Let’s start by saying that President Obama‘s statement was “off the record,” but what does that really mean for a President in the day and age of Twitter?  While being set up for an interview on CNBC, the President commented on rapper Kanye West’s rude interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech, calling the Kanye a “jackass.”

ABC News reporter Terry Moran immediately took to Twitter, sharing President Obama’s comment, but removed the tweet within the hour.  The tweet said:

“Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a “jackass” for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.”

Politico reported that ABC later apologized to the White House and CNBC, for not honoring the “off the record” unwritten rule.

One more reason for us to love President Obama!!  The man knows what’s really going on in America and even has a realistic opinion about it!
