Avril Lavigne files for divorce

Singer Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from husband, Deryck Whibley, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The couple was married for 3 years before announcing their separation in early September 2009.

Avril isn’t seeking spousal support, nor does she want to pay Sum 41 Deryck any money.  Hopefully the divorce can end smoothly and they can both move on with their lives.

Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley announce separation

Earlier this week we told you about singer Avril Lavigne and husband Deryck Whibley’s (Sum41) rumored separation.  Well it’s now official.  Avril announced their separation, “I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”

Let’s hope they can truly make it an amicable split and move on to bigger and better.  Or not…it will give us more gossip to spread!!

Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley splitting up

Rumors are stirring that punk singer Avril Lavigne husband Deryck Whibley might be splitting up after a three year marriage.

No divorce has been filed between the young couple who have been spending time apart…Avril in New York and Deryck in L.A. Avril has been in NYC debuting her clothing line ‘Abbey Dawn.’

There have been rumors stirring for months since the couple has been seen fighting in public and partying without each other.

We’ll keep you posted on what we hear…we sense divorce papers from the Canadian couple in the near future.
