Pop music icon from the 80’s, Annie Lennox, has been given the ‘2009 Woman of Peace’ award by the Nobel Peace Laureates for her dedication to help raise awareness about HIV and AIDS.
The 54-year-old was presented the award at the Nobel summit in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 and said:
“I want to express my profound gratitude and deep humility. I honour all the women working around the globe to reduce the effects of this pandemics. This is for them, they truly deserve it.”
