One of our favorite British pop/R&B singers, Leona Lewis, just wants to sing and live a normal life without promotional tours or red carpet events.
The ‘Bleeding Love’ singer told Big Issue magazine,
“I definitely have moments when I come home and shut the door and think that all I want to do is sing. But then I think, wait a minute – how are people going to hear my music? The bottom line is that if I can inspire, create awareness and help someone or an animal in any way, then it’s all been worth it.”
Leona’s claim to fame started in 2006 when she won ‘The X Factor’ a talent show in the UK. Since then, life for the 24-year-old has “definitely a journey for me, and I’m still adjusting. I’ve just learned how to decipher the true, genuine people from the ones that want to know you for their own benefit along the way.”
Even though Leona has been hugely successful the past 3 years, she says her family and friends give her the reality check at the end of the day that she needs. We can’t wait to hear her new album, ‘Echo,’ slated for a worldwide release in November 2009.
