Brody Jenner and Jayde Nicole break up

Another ‘The Hills’ reality TV couple bites the dust. Brody Jenner and Jayde Nicole have broken up after a 15-month relationship.  But former Playboy Playmate Jayde celebrated her breakup with the girl at Hyde Lounge in West Hollywood on December 17, 2009 and again on the 19th at Chicago’s Manor nightclub.

Both Jayde and Brody took to Twitter over the past few days to Tweet about their breakup:

Jayde:”‘Sometimes when you truly love someone you have to let them go…..’ I never really understood that quote until now.”

“Rocking out at Manor. Jager time!”

“8 hours of sleep, too much jager= not good.”

Brody: “So I decided to stay in Australia BY MYSELF!!! Hahaha this is Crazy.. Might just stay here and start a new life.”

Simon Cowell leaving American Idol to focus on X Factor

Media mogul Simon Cowell may not be returning to ‘American Idol’ after his contract runs out in 2010 so he can focus on making the hit British show ‘X Factor’ just as successful here in America.  The Times of London broke the story about Simon, also claiming that he has been talking with FOX Entertainment to bring the ‘X Factor’ to the same network as Idol.   You’ll be hearing Simon Cowell’s biting critiques of aspiring singers on U.S. television for years to come, but after 2010 it may not be on ‘American Idol,’ according to a report in the Times of London.

Simon has been a part of Idol for all eight seasons; last year his salary for the show was an astonishing $36 million!! But when asked about ‘X Factor’ Simon says, “It has to go to America. There has to be an American version of the show. To not take ‘The X Factor’ to the biggest market in the world would be crazy.”

There you have it…Idol’s going to drop and X Factor is slowly going to take its place.  I hate to say it, but Idol is nothing without Simon Cowell.

Jerry Seinfeld to replace Conan on The Tonight Show

Rumors are stirring that comedian Jerry Seinfeld is going to replace Conan O’Brien on The Tonight Show after ratings for the NBC show have dropped by a whopping 52 percent!! A source says:

“NBC just can’t carry on like this. ‘The Tonight Show’ has lost 52 percent of its viewership in just one year. The November ratings will be the show’s lowest in 15 years. They would be idiots to not be having the replacement conversation.”

I think Conan is great…but what do you expect to happen?!  You take away the iconic Jay Leno and then 9 months later give Jay another show, an hour earlier in primetime television, and expect Conan to keep up ratings?  It’s sad.

But…I wouldn’t mind seeing Jerry on The Tonight Show either…I miss the Seinfeld days.  Who do you think should host?

Jon Gosselin owes Hailey Glassman $90,000

Even though Jon Gosselin is single, he’s still broke and owes ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman $90,000.  Ok, two questions…first, what the hell did Jon need that much money for and how does Hailey have an extra $90k lying around?

Jon “came crying to Hailey, admitting that he did take money – but he said he believed he was entitled to ie – as his paycheck,” said the pal, after Jon begged for the cash to pay off women who claimed to have had affairs with him so his image wouldn’t be tarnished during his divorce battle.  Ha, right…he tarnished his image all on his own.

So where did Hailey get the dough?  It was money she’d saved since childhood from relatives, jobs, and her Bat Mitzvah.  The source says:

“Jon promised to pay her back in full by January, but now he’s pleading for more time… He figured he would be a big star by now, but thanks to his own erratic behavior, he has little or no prospect of employment. Now he’s asking Hailey if he can pay her back on an installment plan.”

Jon can’t catch a break.  Part of me is empathetic; part of me thinks that you sleep in the bed you make.

Jon and Kate Gosselin divorce is finalized

TLC’s ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’ have finalized their much publicized divorce.

After 10 years of marriage, Jon and Kate Gosselin have officially signed off and ended it.  The ex-couple will continue to separate their assets between each other, but Kate “will continue to reside with all eight of her children in the former marital home.”

Just outside the courtroom Kate eagerly tells cameras, “I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the New Year, focusing on our children and restructuring our lives.”

Good riddance!!

Nancy O’Dell leaves Access Hollywood

After 13 years with the show, original Access Hollywood co-anchor Nancy O’Dell is leaving two years before her contract expires. A rep released the following statement:

“The original member of the Access Hollywood family, co-anchor and respected broadcast journalist Nancy O’Dell, has chosen to leave the show after 13 years. O’Dell appreciates NBC’s cooperation as she begins this next chapter in her career. Even though she will be leaving for a new opportunity, this decision is based totally on Nancy’s desire to take her career to the next level and is completely amicable. She will continue on with projects as a broadcast entertainment journalist.”

Nancy still hasn’t announced what she’s doing next, but prior to Access she spent seven years as a news anchor and investigative reporter.  Best of luck Nancy…we’ll miss you!!

Oprah Winfrey donates $1.5 million to Atlanta school

Even though she’s ending her show, Lady O still has plenty of cash to give away!!  Oprah Winfrey has donated $1.5 million to a private middle school in Atlanta called the Ron Clark Academy.

The school announced their donation on Thursday after struggling to raise the $2.8 million operating cash needed to keep them running.  The Academy is in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the inner city and is hoping to use the money to build a cafeteria, gymnasium, and theater.

Way to go, Oprah!!
