Carrie Underwood engaged to Mike Fisher

Congratulations goes out to country superstar Carrie Underwood and her new fiance, Ottawa Senator hockey player Mike Fisher!!  The couple are engaged!! Carrie’s rep tells Us:

“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier. No wedding date has been set at this time.”

The couple began dating last year and kept their relationship pretty private, up until the release of her new CD ‘Play On’ where Carrie sang from the rooftops about her man.

“Thank you #12 [jersey number]. You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day… xoxo, Carrie.”

First comes love, then comes marriage…but what about the baby in the baby carriage?

“Not that I have a husband to have one with yet, but someday I’d like a family – not a big one, but not a small one either. Two kids is good; three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!” Carrie shares with the January 2010 issue of Self magazine.

Jessica Simpson speaks about her rumored affair with Tiger Woods

Although she hasn’t done much in the music scene lately, Jessica Simpson has managed to saunter her way into sports gossip again…this time about her rumored affair with golf superstar Tiger Woods.

Jess took to Twitter to dispel the rumors and Tweets:

“Can’t believe that I’m on the cover of star magazine with Tiger Woods, what a JOKE! ‘The Shocking Inside Story’ is A LIE!”

The rumor started after Star magazine reported that the two stars exchanged e-mails and phone numbers at the AT&T National Pro-Am golf tournament in Bethesda, Maryland this past July.

Kate Hudson and A-Rod split up

Is it finally over?!!  Rumors are stirring that Kate Hudson and Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez have split up!!  While Kate was promoting her new film ‘Nine,’ A-Rod was partying it up in Miami.  A source said, “He was acting VERY single, and Kate Hudson was definitely not there. Kate and A-Rod broke up.”

Apparently A-Rod was having a bit too much fun with two women at the Wall Lounge in the W Hotel.  Now that the Yankee’s won the World Series, he doesn’t need his lucky charm Kate anymore.

Neither of their publicists has commented on the situation.  So what do you think…splitsville or no?

Gillette drops while Nike continues to support Tiger Woods

Well it looks like Tiger Woods has at least one support group after the recent outbreak of his adulterous affairs has hit the media.  Major sports giant Nike has decided to continue to support Tiger through this whole ordeal, retaining him as a spokesman for the Nike name despite his “indefinite break” from professional golf. In a statement to Usmagazine, Nike quotes:

“Tiger has been part of Nike for more than a decade. He is the best golfer in the world and one of the greatest athletes of his era. We look forward to his return to golf. He and his family have Nike’s full support.”

Meanwhile, one of Tiger’s other major sponsors, Gillette, has dropped Tiger from their ads. A company spokesperson announced yesterday that they will be distancing themselves from the world’s best golfer:

“As Tiger takes a break from the public eye, we will support his desire for privacy by limiting his role in our marketing programs.”

Good cover…sounds like Proctor & Gamble is trying to take the ‘classy’ way out.

Tiger Woods earns about $110 million a year between endorsements and tournaments with Nike, Gillette and Pepsi.  Pepsi, it’s your turn…whatcha gonna do?

Tiger Woods caddie Steve Williams speaks out

Tiger Woods’ caddie Steve Williams speaks out about Tiger’s recent infidelity outbursts in his first interview for the Sunday News in New Zealand.

“Obviously, I understand Tiger has got a problem. And we [Woods and Williams] discussed that. What people fail to realize is I [just] work for Tiger Woods. I live in New Zealand, I travel to and from New Zealand to caddie for Tiger Woods. I am not with him 24/7. Whilst I am a very good friend of his… I don’t know what he does off the course. Some nights we go to dinner. His indiscretions have probably been [when he wasn't playing]. When he is not competing, I am back in New Zealand. I have no knowledge of what he is doing.”

Sounds to me like Steve is trying to be smart about this…he doesn’t want to be affiliated with Tiger’s adulterous ways. Can you blame him?

Tiger Woods opens up about his infidelity

In a statement on the golfer’s website, Tiger Woods opens up about his infidelity with the following:

“I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.”

Tiger, Tiger…we’re glad you’re trying to rectify your marriage, but after at least 13 different relationships with 13 different women, I don’t know what kind of hope you have at saving your marriage.  Best of luck.  Elin deserves better.
