Shania Twain carries Olympic torch in Ontario, Canada

Country singer diva Shania Twain held a little bit of history on Friday night where she carried the Olympic torch through Timmins, Ontario, Canada – her home town.

The five-time Grammy Award winner braved the minus-30-degree weather as more than 1,000 fans cheered her on.

“There is a lot of excitement surrounding the voyage of the Olympic flame as it makes its way through our beautiful country. I am proud to be a small part of the flame’s journey to its final destination at the games in Vancouver. I will never forget this honor and cherish the privilege,” Shania shares.

The Olympics will commence February 12, 2010.

Lindsay Lohan’s New Year’s Resolution

It’s been quite the year for actress Lindsay Lohan…drug problems, an emotional wreck, her father releasing private phone recordings of her issues, her disastrous attempt into the fashion world…what else?

Her New Year’s Resolution for 2010 was revealed in a series of Tweets over the weekend, where she’s spending the holidays in St. Barth:

“To answer everybody’s question…My new years resolution is to stop letting the lucky few that have my heart, try2constantly tear me down.”

“2010 is about moving forward, not backwards. Leaving the bad (people, habbits, and negative energy behind) time to make changes-right!?!? :)”

“Starting my new year off with friends&family, the way it should be….. No boyfriends and the other drama”

“Peace and Love Mates”

She even posted a pic of herself in a pink bikini and smoking a cigarette while aboard a boat in St. Barth.

It wouldn’t be a party without the classic nipple slip from Pamela Anderson, and that’s exactly what happened at the Gridlock New Years Eve Party at the Paramount lot, Los Angeles, CA where she was hosting.

The only man that came to her rescue was American Idol runner up, Adam Lambert. Pam was doing the New Year’s countdown and the nip-slip popped out then.  As Adam tried to help her, she held his hand away, thinking he was trying to cop-a-feel.  WTF?  First of all he’s gay.  Second, it’s Pam Anderson…her boobs are old news; no one wants to touch them.  And lastly, has Pam gotten more conservative in her old age, dismissing a potential feel-up?

Mike Tyson not facing charges for paparazzo fight last November

Good news for fighter turned actor, Mike Tyson.  He will not be facing charges for fighting with a paparazzo at LAX last November.

Mike supposedly punched videographer Tony Echevarria four times after being “attacked” as he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport with his wife, Lakiha Spicer, and their 10-month-old daughter Milan.

At the time, both men made citizen’s arrests on each other and taken to a police station where they were both booked for misdemeanor battery charges.

Charges won’t be filed on Mike Tyson or Tony Echevarria.

Sandra Bullock wins top Hollywood star of 2009 award

Actress Sandra Bullock has had quite an amazing 2009!!  The Quigley Publishing Company has released their annual list of top Hollywood stars and Sandra Bullock came in first place!  Way to go!!

The awards are based on the opinions of the owners and box office sales. She can give special thanks to her performances in The Blind Side, The Proposal, and All About Steve which brought in a whopping $400 million to the box office.

Quigley has been running this poll for almost 80 years and in that time, only eight other woman have received the number one title, the last woman being Julia Roberts back in 1999 with Runaway Bride and Notting Hill and the much-anticipated Eric Brockovich.

Rosie O’Donnell has a new girlfriend

Sorry ladies, as soon as she’s on the market, she’s back off again!!  Comedian and former TV talk show host Rosie O’Donnell split from longtime partner Kelli Carpenter in November and has now confirmed to People that she has a new girlfriend and is dating Tracy Kachtick-Anders.

Tracy is a Texas-based artist, and just like Rosie, is active in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parenting and adoption issues. She’s even launched her own non-profit organization called Open Arms Campaign that recruits and fosters adoptive families that targets the LGBT community.

“I have become an activist and work to educate everyone, not only about the plight of foster children, but also the inequality that faces LGBT people in their quest to create families.” Tracy wrote on TheRainbowBabies.com. She has six children, five of whom are adopted.

Rosie is also working on her own project, the HBO documentary ‘A Family Is A Family Is A Family: A Rosie O’Donnell Celebration,’ that challenges the traditional ideas of family. So between the two women, they have 11 children to help produce this film.  Holy smokes!!

Elton John helps Eminem fight drug problem

Here’s an odd couple for you.  Sir Elton John has been helping rapper Eminem fight his drug problem for the past year-and-a-half.  The British star tells a slew of British media:

“I’ve been helping Eminem over the last 18 months and he’s doing brilliantly. I’m there if people want my help. If people ask for help you tell them where to go but there’s no point advising people if they don’t want to do it.”

In May 2009, Eminem admitted his drug addiction, saying that he’d suffered from a downward spiral of prescription drugs, taking as many as 20 Vicodin, Ambien and Valium in one day.

“The numbers got so high. I don’t even know what I was taking,” he tells Vibe magazine

Since being clean, Eminem has even talked about how his music has improved (I’m not sure how it can get much better, he’s amazing), and that he’s hearing beats differently.  It will be great to hear his latest album…keep up the hard work Eminem; we’re so proud of you!!
