Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler enters rehab for painkiller addiction

Aerosmith’s lead singer, Steven Tyler, has entered rehab for his addiction to painkillers as a result of more than 10 years of performance injuries.  In a statement released to People, Steven Tyler said:

“With the help of my family and team of medical professionals, I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford. I love Aerosmith; I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of.”

In addition to his statement, his daughter, actress Liv Tyler noted “My family and I are in complete support of my dad’s decision to seek treatment. He is a courageous man. We love him and are so proud that he is getting help to balance his pain management, not just for himself but for his family, friends and fans.”

Best of luck Steven Tyler…we love you, get better soon!!

Randy Quaid shows up to court

It’s about time!!  Randy Quaid and his wife Evi have finally showed up to court after being accused of running out on a hotel bill and then ignoring the warrants out for their arrest.  They both plead not guilty and bail was set at $20,000 each.

The couple will be back in court on March 1, 2010 for a preliminary hearing.

“A lot of things can happen between now and then. It could be dropped to a misdemeanor or there could be some kind of plea,” says Santa Barbara Detective Rod Forney.

However the couple’s attorney said, “They were never on the run from the law. There’s a lot of misinformation out there about this. It’s much ado about nothing.”

I think we just need to get this settled and move forward…what a bizarre case.

Eva Longoria to launch her own perfume

Sexy actress Eva Longoria Parker has decided to launch her own perfume line after refusing to wear other people’s fragrances.  About her debut scent called Eva, she says:

“I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear. So I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that. I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done. But I enjoyed the process.”

The perfume will appear in a bottle curved to mimic the curves of a woman and will debut in more than 1,000 stores by April 2010.  It will retail for $48-$58 per bottle.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship extended

Good news for pop princes Britney Spears…she’s on the straight and narrow path thanks to the conservatorship with her father, and now a judge has ruled to extend that watchful eye for another six months to a year.

Jamie Spears will continue to get his $16,000-a-month payment for his duties.  The next hearing is set for January 14th.

Christina Aguilera in car accident

Singer Christina Aguilera was in a minor car accident this evening in West Hollywood.  According to TMZ, witnesses at the scene said that Christina was being driven by her assistant when her Range Rover rear ended another vehicle.

The accident was minor and no one has complained of injuries.
