So much for buying Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ DVD for Christmas this year!!

Sony announced that the home video release date has been pushed back to January 26, 2010 because they felt releasing to DVD so soon would cut into ticket sales at the theater. Wait…wasn’t the film only supposed to be in theaters for two weeks?  But it was extended after sold out shows…so what’s Sony trying to pull, another publicity stunt?

So far ‘This Is It’ has grossed more than $200 million worldwide…but apparently that’s not enough…money grubbing Sony execs.  Pfh.

Chelsea Clinton engaged to Marc Mezvinsky

Chelsea Clinton is finally getting married!!  Daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is engaged to Marc Mezvinsky.

The 29-year-old met while going to school at Stanford and announced their engagement via email to friends and family the day after Thanksgiving.

“We’re sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn’t get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc.”

Carrie Ann Inaba, the 41-year-old Dancing With the Stars judge, is back on the dance floor just 5 days after having neck surgery for spinal stenosis!!

“My back and neck were locked up. I have arthritis. I wasn’t able to move pretty much the whole season. It’s nice to have my motion back. I have class Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’m back to my normal schedule and I can’t wait!” Carried said during her appearance at Dizzy Feet’s Inaugural Celebration of Dance.

We’re glad you are up and dancing again Carrie!!

Here’s a shocker for you…Nick Hogan was in another car accident in LA over the weekend!!  And this was after he left a charity event that was raising money for Keep It On Track Charity, an organization dedicated to safe driving.

Oh the irony…

As a reminder, back in 2007 the son of Hulk Hogan spent several months in jail and was convicted of reckless driving after losing control and almost killing one of his friends, John Graziano.

Tiger Woods releases statement

After a car accident this weekend at his Florida home and the subsequent rumors that started flying, Tiger Woods released the following statement on his website:

“As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”

Rumors are stirring that Tiger Woods had an affair with a New York night club hostess and was recently seen with her in Melbourne where he competed in the Australian Masters.  All this is coming out just days after his car accident on Friday morning.  His wife Elin broke out the back window of his Escalade to get him out of the car, but why was Tiger running away from his home at 2:25 a.m.?  And was the window busted out before he left the house?

So does Tiger Woods have a mistress?

“I resent my reputation is getting completely blasted in the media. Everyone is assuming I came out and said this. This is not a story I have anything to do with,” the hostess said during a telephone interview late Friday.  She claims she was in Melbourne with clients and never saw Tiger the entire time she was down under.

What do you think?  Tiger and Elin have been married for five years and have two children.

Tiger Woods car accident

Golfing legend Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident early Friday morning when he reportedly lost control of his 2009 Cadillac Escalade just outside his Isleworth Florida mansion, hitting an airbag and going unconscious for six minutes.  His wife Elin was in the house when the accident occurred, came running outside and used a golf club to bust out the back windows and help Tiger out of the car.

“She was frantic, upset. It was her husband lying on the ground. She supposedly got him out and laid him on the ground. He was in and out of consciousness when my guys got there,” Windermere police chief Daniel Saylor said.

Tiger has lacerations to his face and lips and blood in his mouth.  He was taken to the hospital, treated, and released in good condition.

The Florida Highway Patrol said alcohol was not involved, but the case will remain under investigation and charges might still be filed.

It looks like pictures of CBS news anchor Katie Couric dirty dancing surfaced earlier this week.  She was snapped shaking her thing on the dance floor at the Hudson Hotel back in September 2006 after receiving the “Evening News” spot with CBS.

The photos showed up on her daughter’s Facebook page in a photo album titled “Four Martini Minimum.”  After the pictures surfaced, one of her reps said, “Katie had a good time dancing with her daughters — they choreographed the dance and had fun doing it.”

I think Katie Couric rocks – it’s nice to see her having fun and smiling for a change; she’s too boring on the evening news.

Miley Cyrus celebrates 17th birthday

Remember Miley Cyrus’ birthday bash at Disneyland last year?  Well this year the singer decided to keep her 17th birthday more low-key.  Her birthday is today, actually, but Miley celebrated her big day on November 18, 2009 in New York at the Canal Room with family and friends.

The Party in the USA siner “had an ’80s theme, complete with a performance by the cast of the Broadway musical ‘Rock of Ages.’ The whole thing was a surprise,” a source told People.

Even Miley’s cake fit the party theme, designed by ‘Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro.  “They didn’t want a girly-girl cake. The vanilla cake was inspired by Madonna’s penchant for wearing lace in the ’80s and was accented in Cyrus’ favorite color, purple. It totally fit the theme. It was really awesome,” Buddy said.

This is the second 80s themed party for Miss Miley.  She had another 80’s bash when she turned 15 as well. “She loves the ’80s,” her mother, Tish, told People. “The fashion, the big hair — she thinks it’s so funky.”

Pretty weird for a girl born in 1992.  But yes, the 80s rocked.
