John Mayer donates to charity for mugshot

Earlier this week we posted an article about singer John Mayer challenging TMZ executive producer Harvey Levin to find his May 2001 mugshot; if he was successful, John would donate $25,000 to charity.  While TMZ was in pursuit, The Smoking Gun took to Twitter, announcing they got their hands on it first.

But John stayed true to his word, announcing that the $25,000 would be split between the Pet Orphans and Ace of Hearts charities.

We already loved John Mayer, but love him even more since he supports animal rescue and adoption!!

Selena Gomez highest cable TV rankings

Disney Channel actress Selena Gomez’s TV movie special, “Wizards of Waverly the Movie,” broke the highest ratings of any cable TV show in 2009. The Disney Channel movie, based on the TV show about three tween siblings with magical powers, even beat TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” episode that announced the infamous reality TV parents’, Jon and Kate Gosselin, divorce.

And if that wasn’t exciting enough, the “Wizards of Waverly Place” album hit stores on August 4, 2009 featuring brand new songs and interpretations of classic tracks from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s…all the songs are about magic!

Selena’s show grossed 11.4 million viewers…just goes to show you, magic beats reality anytime!!

Fox’s modern day GLEE Club

From Wikipedia, “a glee club is a musical group, historically of men but also of just women or mixed voices, which traditionally specializes in the singing of short songs—glees—by trios or quartets. The first named Glee Club was founded in London, England, in 1787.”

Fast forward to modern day Glee Clubs… ‘GLEE’ is the hottest anticipated TV comedy for fall 2009. On www.fox.com, producer Ryan Murphy describes the show as “a new comedy for the aspiring underdog in all of us.”

The description on Fox’s website continues, “The series follows an optimistic teacher, Will Schuester…to save McKinley High’s Glee Club from obscurity, while helping a group of aspiring underdogs realize their true star potential…Will’s only hope lies with two true talents: Rachel Berry… a self-proclaimed star who is convinced that MySpace and show choir and are her tickets to fame; and Finn Hudson…the popular high school quarterback with movie star looks who must protect his reputation from his holier-than-thou girlfriend and “Cheerios” head cheerleader, Quinn…and his arrogant football teammate, Puck…Will is determined to do whatever it takes to make Glee great again, but his only ally is fellow teacher and germaphobe Emma Pillsbury…Everyone else around him thinks he’s nuts…but he’s out to prove them wrong.”

The anticipated GLEE cast includes:

Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy’s ex-wife, Joan Bennett Kennedy, attended the funeral services for the U.S. Senator at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston, Massachusetts August 29, 2009.

Ted Kennedy and Joan Bennett met in 1957 while she was a student at Manhattanville College (then a Sacred Heart Academy), part-time model, and friend to Ted’s sister Jean.  “What she was up against with Ted Kennedy was not easy,” says biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli. Their marriage was filled with turmoil and heartache; the two assassinations of his brothers John Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, their son’s fight with bone cancer, multiple miscarriages, Ted’s infidelity, and Joan’s addiction to alcohol.

Throughout her marriage to Ted, Joan was publicly honest about two demons she faced; the first was seeing a psychiatrist and the other was joining AA – Alcoholics Anonymous.  In her 1985 biography she states, “My personality was more shy and retiring…And so rather than get mad or ask questions concerning the rumors about Ted and his girlfriends, or really stand up for myself at all, it was easier for me to just go and have a few drinks and calm myself down as if I weren’t hurt or angry.”

Ted Kennedy and Joan Bennett Kennedy’s divorce was final in 1982.

Whitney Houston’s seventh album, I Look To You

Six-time Grammy Award-winning singer Whitney Houston is ready to release her seventh album, I Look To You, hitting stores on August 31, 2009.  This album should be a major comeback for Whitney.  It’s been six years since her last recording, seven years since the “crack is wack” comment during an interview with Diane Sawyer, and ten years since her last Grammy Award.

There hasn’t been much publicity for the I Look To You album.  Whitney will perform in Central Park on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 for Good Morning America and will interview on Oprah’s season premiere September 14, 2009…so far, that’s it.

Executive producer Clive Davis assembled a mixed cast of performers to aide Whitney Houstons’ comeback cd. Artists such as Akon, Alicia Keys, Swiss Beatz, Diane Warren, and David Foster can be recognized, while the final song, “Salute” produced by R. Kelly, shows a lyrical Whitney affirming her place in the music industry with, “don’t call it a comeback, no, I been here for years.”

We’d like to call it a comeback!  Whitney deserves to resurface as the triumphant performer she always has been!

This makes car wreck number four for Mr. Bean actor, Rowan Atkinson.  The actor’s silver Audi convertible straight-on hit a dustcart (British garbage truck), leaving Rowan’s face and ribs bruised!!  How the hell do you miss seeing a freaking garbage truck?!!  It gets better…he was in his driveway!!

I guess he is taking his role from the 2001 movie ‘Rat Race’ a little bit too seriously…”it’s a race!!”

The other 3 accidents in the past decade – two involved his Aston Martin V8 Zagato and the other his McLaren F1.

Sounds to me like Rowan’s neighborhood in Apethorpe Northants England can be a dangerous place, even in a garbage truck!!  Try to be more careful Bean.

Gavin (lead singer and guitarist of Bush) spent most of his time splashing around with Kingston while the No Doubt singer held baby Zuma.

This is, without a doubt, a very good looking, active family!!

Amber Rose hosts Tao Beach party at the Venetian

Ford model and girlfriend of singer Kanye West, Amber Rose, hosts a Tao Beach party at The Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The sexy 26-year-old stripped down to a black and white bikini during the event, and even hung out with her brother Antonio Hewlett while muching on sushi, Kobe hot dogs, and crispy rice.

Kanye West also attended the event, staying until the pool closed, then took Amber and friends to dinner on the Strip at Lavo.

Sounds like a fabulous day to us!!  Oh, Amber was also sporting a new set of contacts…ice blue.  What do you think of the color??

Kings of Leon give U.K. fans the bird

U.S. band Kings of Leon were not pleased with U.K. fans’ cold response at the Reading Festival in England on Friday, August 28, 2009.

Singer Caleb Followill tried to win over the audience, but after not much response, he yelled, “I thought this was supposed to be the loudest crowd in the world?…We know you’re sick of Kings of Leon. We’re f***ing sick of Kings of Leon too. But we get up here every night and I thank God for everything I’ve had…So for all those who don’t give a f**k about us, I understand. But we’ve worked hard to be here. We’re the goddamn Kings of Leon, so f**k you.”

Then, to make matters even worse, Caleb and Jared both smashed their guitars on the stage, then threw the shards into the crowd and stormed off stage, giving fans the bird!!

Wow!!  Now…I am no musical entertainer, but I would think that lashing out at your fans and throwing pieces of wood at them is not the best approach to win them over…especially the Brits!!!

After the outburst, Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill took to Twitter:

“Reading? What the f**k? Zero love for the kings. I know it was cold but holy s**t, y’all were frozen. I can only hope Leeds is in better form.”

What the f**k, Kings of Leon?  Geeze…!

He even had his own cabana and poster on the wall…big bawler!  I wonder how many ladies ventured into Jon’s domain??
