Andrew Young, former aide to presidential candidate John Edwards, handed over a copy of the John Edwards/Rielle Hunter sex tape to the FBI on Friday, February 5, 2010.
Andrew was held in contempt of court on Thursday for not handing over all copies of the tape. According to The Associated Press, Andrew’s attorney has the original sex tape locked in a safe deposit box in Atlanta.
“These items are to be produced and turned over to the court. The court will put them under lock and key — and under seal – until the lawsuit is resolved,” North Carolina Judge Abraham Penn Jones told Andrew Young.
Ex-mistress Rielle Hunter said she tried to destroy the sex tape that she and John made back in 2006 by ripping the tape out of the cassette, but in Andrew’s tell-all book, ‘The Politician’ he admits he found the tape in her home and was able to restore it. He has kept it ever since.
